David MacDonald Joins ECHO Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of Every Citizen Has Opportunities, Inc. (ECHO) announced the appointment of David MacDonald as a member of the Board of Directors, effective immediately. Mr. MacDonald will chair the organization’s Planning and Personnel Committee. Mr. MacDonald is the Senior Vice President of K2M Group Holdings, Inc., a global medical device company focused on designing, developing, and commercializing innovative complex spine and minimally invasive technologies and techniques used by spine surgeons around the globe to treat some of the most complicated spinal pathologies.
“Dave will be a tremendous asset to ECHO. His experience in rapid growth environments, problem solving and economic development is a perfect match for the needs of ECHO at this time of expansion,” said Laurraine Landolt, Chair of ECHO’s Board Development Committee and a member of the Board.
“Dave is an accomplished business leader and is highly regarded in both the public and nonprofit sectors,” added Paul Donohue, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of ECHO. “We are confident that his experience, passion and wisdom will add great value to our Board of Directors and to ECHO’s mission.”
Mr. MacDonald has more than 30 years of management experience at medical device and technology companies. Prior to joining K2M in 2004, Mr. MacDonald was Vice President of Gould Optronics, Inc., a subsidiary of Japan Energy Corporation, where he had total P&L responsibility. He was also the Director of Operations/Administration for various divisions at both Kirschner Medical Corporation and Biomet (currently Zimmer Biomet).
“It is a privilege to be nominated and to serve on ECHO’s Board of Directors,” said Mr. MacDonald. “For the past 10 years I have seen first-hand the difference ECHO makes in our community and I look forward to challenges we face as we move ECHO forward.”
Mr. MacDonald is a member of the Health Sciences Advisory Board of The George Washington University and also serves on the Economic Development Advisory Commission of Loudoun County, Virginia. Mr. MacDonald holds a BS degree from James Madison University and an MA in Management from The College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
