ECHO Providing Cold Weather Transportation Service for Loudoun County
Through March 31st ECHO is running shuttles around Loudoun County to drop off people at warm shelter. ECHO Transportation provides professional, efficient and on-time quality services to expand our reach beyond the core ECHO mission to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their optimal level of personal, social and economic success. The Loudoun County Cold Weather Shelter is open for adults in the community who are experiencing a housing crisis resulting in homelessness. Loudoun County will provide free transportation to the shelter with shuttle buses departing nightly. “We are excited we can utilize our fleet to help Loudoun County and the greater community by providing transportation services to those in-need”, commented ECHO Director of Transportation Kinta Carter. This initiative is part of ECHO Ventures, ECHO’s for-profit company to help fund our mission. This is an exciting part of ECHO’s expansion into creating commercial ventures to help fund our growth and programs because we are expanding our mission into the community; this serves the greater good, and; this provides additional opportunities to utilize our fleet of 38 buses and vans outside of normal business. “ECHO is proud to contribute to community in many ways – whether through day support, training or employment for people with disabilities or through transportation for homeless individuals. We are excited to contract with Loudoun County to further serve our community, and our mission”, said ECHO CEO Paul Donohue, Jr. More information about services available to those experiencing homelessness in Loudoun County may be found at loudoun.gov/CoC or by calling 703-777-0420.
