Betsy Sue Scott Joins ECHO Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of Every Citizen Has Opportunities, Inc. (ECHO) announced the appointment of Betsy Sue Scott as a member of the Board of Directors, effective immediately. Ms. Scott will be a member of the organization’s Fundraising Committee. Ms. Scott is the Founder and Principal in the Law Office of Betsy Sue Scott, a firm whose Virginia practice area includes Wills, Trusts, Probate, Estate Administration, Commissioner of Accounts, Elder Law, Incapacity Planning, Guardianships and Conservatorships, Fiduciary Counseling, Nursing Home and Assisted Living Admissions, CCRCs, and Business and Commercial Law, and whose Federal practice area includes Nonprofits, and Administrative Law and Agency Enforcement Action Defense.
Ms. Scott has extensive expertise in broad legal areas. She held key leadership positions at the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and has over 16 years of experience in economic sanctions, federal enforcement actions, administrative agency practice, and federal regulations, guidelines, and policies. She has successfully demonstrated keen abilities in the areas of consensus building, negotiations, program management, strategic planning, as well as personnel management, and has worked for a nationally renowned law firm, federal government agencies, and financial institutions.

Ms. Scott is Past President – Virginia Women Attorneys Association and a Member of the Board of Trustees, Virginia Diocesan Homes (Westminster‐Canterbury residences, Goodwin Houses, and strategic planning for future senior residences). She is a past Member of the Board of Directors of the Parents Council of Washington, Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter (LAWS), Friends of River Bend Park, and several other nonprofits.
