Clarification on ECHO’s New Inclement Weather Policy

ECHO is now following Loudoun County Public Schools closures/delays for inclement weather. If Loudoun County Public Schools have announced they will be closed for the day, opening 1 or 2 hours late or closing early due to inclement weather, ECHO will be operating on the same schedule.

If the Loudoun County Public Schools have a scheduled closure due to a holiday or teacher work day, ECHO will follow Loudoun County Government.  If the Loudoun County Government announces Unscheduled Leave or Closure, ECHO will be closed on these days.  This only affects days when the school system has a previously scheduled student holiday.  There are only 14 days this winter where the schools are off but ECHO is open where we will follow the County Government’s inclement weather guidelines.

Information will be posted on www.lcps.org and on the school division’s Facebook page and Twitter feed. You can also sign up for Loudoun Alert 2.0 (www.loudoun.gov/alert). LCPS also makes announcements via the following radio and TV stations: WTOP 103.5 FM/1500 AM; WRC TV 4; WINC 92.5 FM; WTTG TV 5; WMAL 630 AM; WJLA TV 7; WRQX 107.3; WUSA TV 9; News Channel 8.
